Show Fourteen: Sunday 26 September 2010 at Komedia, Brighton

All’s well that ends well on the English south coast, as the band finished up their 14-date 2010 UK tour at the venue where they had started their 2008 and autumn 2005 tours.

Robin, Davey, Pete and Glenn brought proceedings to a close on this latest series of British shows in some style tonight. Classy Komedia provided the perfect venue. The sound was crystal clear. The show and musicianship were as effortless as ever. Pure joy.

When I think about the 45 Trower shows I have seen since March 2005, this show was certainly up there with the best of them. Everything came together. Over the six tours, I have been lucky enough to witness, this latest tour provided one of the best set lists with its mix of both old and new material.

As a fan you have your favourites in terms of individual tracks and nostalgia for specific albums but overall the set list for each tour has been finely balanced yet always with the odd surprise thrown in. This time round, it was the brand new songs, which grabbed our imagination. I simply can’t wait to get my hands on the new CD, when it arrives in December.

Many thanks to Alan, Laurie, Guy and Alec for their professionalism and massive commitment to the cause. To all those people, now good friends, who I met along the way, thank you! You know folks, you are all just as passionate as I am when it comes to the music of the Robin Trower Band – John W, Matthew G, Steve and Steph T, Dunc, David S, John H, Sean, Alan M, Karen W, Jacky T, Gary H, Andy, Pete P, Martin H, Tony C, Ronnie and Sylvia K, Ray M and many more ...

Our thanks to Robin, Glenn, Pete and Davey for playing their hearts out every night. Time for a well earned three-month tour break ahead of a gruelling 33-date first leg in the United States, early next year. Gentlemen, we salute you!
