Tonight is no exception as the popular south coast venue welcomes family, friends, fans and interested parties of all ages. Indeed,
audiences at the seven shows I’ve seen so far this time round have been quite mixed. Not the usual male, middle-aged types like me. Quite a few couples. Some Dads with sons and daughters. I am also rapidly
reaching the conclusion that this latest tour is attracting people who are new to Robin and his music.
Many of Robin’s diehard fans who were at the Shepherds Bush last night are here again this evening
(John W, Gary H … ) but also local fans like John H and Sean too. We’re strategically located on the first floor balcony looking down on the stage below as Robin and the band get us underway.
Somebody Calling is pure gold again and there’s a particularly positive reaction from the audience to new numbers Find Me and The Turning. Again, Too Rolling Stoned hits a fine groove and there’s fulsome participation from the audience at the key moment on Little Bit of Sympathy.
After the show, Robin emerges to meet the fans, sign autographs and pose for photos. I finally get my chance to say a BIG thank you to Alan
Robinson, the man behind this latest tour, the sixth UK Trower tour in six years.
Would you believe it? A total of 77 UK shows from Southsea (March 2005) to Brighton (last date of this latest tour)!
