Robin, Richard, Chris and Livi returned to the studio in March to record some brand new material. The sessions have continued during April and May. Fingers crossed we’ll have a new Trower CD on the Manhaton Records label to enjoy before the year is out. In the meantime, here’s a little bit of Livi

The Pageant St Louis

Trower band fly out Stateside
Robin embarks on 21-date USA tour, kicking off with a show at The Pageant, St Louis on Saturday 4 October. The tour includes shows in Chicago, Detroit and New York before culminating at the Howard Theatre, Washington DC on Saturday 1 November. For the full list of dates click here.

1974-2014 Bridge of Sighs timeless classic

40th Anniversary: Bridge of Sighs
2014 marks a special anniversary for ‘Bridge of Sighs’, Robin’s second and (many would say) his signature record. A massive hit in the States, the album catapulted the relatively unknown band (certainly in their own country) to superstar status. Take a bow! Robin Trower, James Dewar, Reg Isidore, Matthew Fisher, Geoff Emerick .. Thank you Chrysalis Records USA!

Robin talks about recording with Jack
Cherry Red Records have been posting some fabulous video vignettes on YouTube to promote Jack’s forthcoming album. ‘Silver Rails’ is released on 24 March.

Happy Birthday Robin
Very many happy returns of the day to the main man, the special one, our hero and inspiration. Robin - you are very much in our thoughts today. Thank you for all the music, so many moments, memories too! Best wishes to you and all the Trower clan with love from your fans!

Early album remasters repackaged

Warner Music repackages first five albums
This new 5-CD set, one of several ‘Original Album Series’ releases from Warner Music, covers much of the same ground as 2010’s ‘A Tale Untold’ from EMI. Warners use the 2010 digital remasters on four of the five albums, with the 2007 remasters used for ‘BOS’. There are no bonus tracks, as per ‘ATU’, but you do get a dedicated CD for each album. Order yours today.

The wonderful DB with Gary Moore for Blues for Jimi

For those who missed ‘Blues for Jimi’ !
Back in 2007, the late great Gary Moore recorded a classic set of Hendrix covers at the London Hippodrome. Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell joined Gary for the last three numbers but the greater part of the show featured Darrin Mooney on drums and the wonderful DB on bass. Enjoy it on CD, DVD and Blu-ray

Second solo CD for Pete

PT back in the studio
Trower sticksman Pete Thompson has started work on his second solo album. Early indications are that it’s going to be another stonking, rocking barnstormer with our multi-instrumental hero back at the mike stand! For those of you who may be getting vouchers or cash from Santa in a few days time, Pete’s debut CD ‘Open Window’ is thoroughly recommended.

2CD 35-track Compendium 1987-2013

This excellent and much-needed 2CD compilation from Robin’s post-Chrysalis career features 35 tracks from 11 albums including 5 from ’The Playful Heart’ down to single tracks from ‘Take What You Need’ and ‘In The Line of Fire’. Latter day classics such as ‘No Time’, ‘Secret Place’, ‘The Turning’ and  ‘Another Time Another Place’ feature too!

Jack and Robin back together again

Robin returns to record with Jack Bruce
November 2013: News reaches us that Robin has been back in the studio with Jack. The sessions, at Abbey Road, are for Jack’s next solo album, which is tipped for release in March 2014. Robin is one of a number of special guests supporting Jack on the record. Others include Uli Roth and John Medeski. Check Jack’s Twitter feed here.

LOOT out on Repetoire

New release of life for ‘Living out of Time’
